Why Prescribed Fire?
ECOLOGY
Fire ecology is part of the foundation of effective land management in Florida. Using fire helps to mimic conditions of historic natural cycles that allow Floridian ecosystems to maintain a long-lasting balance of old and new growth. It is also a crucial practice in invasive plant management that enhances natural habitat and rehabilitates forage.
